The girl's hockey team was successful in their Zone final game last night defeating St. Paul 5-3.  The girls faced a rough group but came out victorious and the classier team.  Goals were scored by Molly Hot Hands H. the rookie as well as two goals by Kylee Killer R. and two essential goals by our senior sensation Jesse F..  A great game by the whole team.  The girl's will head to SOSSA next Tue in Niagara on the Lake. Good luck girls.

All grade 9s and 10s who are interested in playing on the Junior boys hockey team are to see Mr. Lew today at lunch in the front foyer to pick up permission forms.  Our first tryout will be Monday at 3pm

Could you imagine not having enough money to go on the next class field trip, or not getting a new pair of glasses because your parents can't afford it.  This is the reality of many students at the DSBN.  A non-profit organization, Education Foundation Niagara, supports DSBN students who want to go on field trips or who need a new pair of running shoes so they can join in on gym classes.  On Thursday & Friday this week, Interact will be hosting a fundraiser to support this very important cause.  We will have delicious baked goods and mystery candy bags for sale in the front foyer.  You could also win a pass for Clifton Hill when you support this fundraiser.  So bring your loose change, buy a delicious treat and support an important cause.

Attention all Badminton players.  There will be open practices this Thursday and Friday after school.  Try-outs will start next week and the team will be mostly made before the start of the March Break.  Sign-ups pages will be in the Gym foyer starting at lunch our today.  Please write your full name and indicate if you are a club or high school level player.  Grade 9 players are to register for 1 event in the Midget category.  If you have any questions, please see Mr. Blanchard.

On Monday, the SR Girls Volleyball team traveled to Cayuga to compete for the SOSSA Championship.  With the daunting task of playing one of the strongest teams in the province, the girls came out flying and won the first set much to the opponent's surprise and long faces.  Unfortunately, with a late lead in the fourth game and an opportunity to even the match at 2 games each, victory escaped this group of shield maidens with a few missed calls and bad breaks.

It was a great season for the team and a great legacy left by the grade 12 players Val B., Sarah B., Shaela F., Veja L., Caleigh Mc. and our Captain Juliet N..  Special thanks to Crossley Grad Ms. Clark and Mrs. Gibson for their help this season.  Good luck in your Co-ed tournaments.
