Awesome, Amazing and A1, those are the words to describe a wonderful night Saturday for the ELC Rowing team as it celebrated its 25th anniversary of what has become the iconic Pasta Dinner/Auction Fundraiser. Started 25 years ago by the Ruscitti Rowing Rock Rower Family it has attracted 400-500 people annually rain, shine or snow- just like the rowing team. It was a fun, family night with good eats and entertainment with the auction and ergometer competition.
A big, big thank you to all of the athletes and their families for a "many hands make the load light" effort, special kudos goes out to Ms. Yallup who spearheads the event every year despite a very busy work and family life and helps keep the Crossley Rowing team in top notch equipment and humming along. We are so grateful. We would also like to thank the administration Ms Sargeant and Mr. Young for making their presence and support felt as well as the caretaking staff who always take care of us like family. And a shout out to Ms Weir and Mr. Usborne for bringing in some staff representation.

The Jr Boys basketball team played in the largest basketball tournament in Ontario, a 64-team tournament this weekend in Peterborough with many top ranked teams in Ontario represented. The boys won their first two games beating teams from Courtice and Markham. This placed the boys in the top division where they played the 5th ranked team in Ontario, Bill Crothers SS, also from Markham. The boys played great and pushed the other team, never letting the game get out of reach. In the end, the boys lost placing them in the consolation side, but still one of the top 8 team in the tournament. From there, the boys beat teams from Brampton and Windsor in convincing style to capture the consolation championship finishing 5th. The boys represented Crossley extremely well on and off the court with many other coaches complementing our team play and wondering where we were from. A great weekend boy! Keep the momentum going as playoffs begin!
