ISCF
E.L. Crossley, like many schools in the District School Board of Niagara, does have an Inter School Christian Fellowship Group that meets every Friday after school. This is a non-denominational club, run by students (with a staff sponsor) that is committed to sharing the love of Jesus Christ to the world. Each meeting begins with a Music Spotlight section in which a student plays a song from their favourite CD and then they explain the lyrics and Christian message behind the tune. Next there is a time of prayer in which the group either branches into a few small groups or prays as a large group. (Some of the students' mothers have taken it upon themselves to pray for the school and the students on Thursday afternoon at a mother's house so the prayer requests are written down and given to the mothers.) The meeting concludes with a message from one of the co-leaders or from a guest speaker from one of the local churches. And we must not forget the wonderful snacks that are devoured. Students, moms and maybe even dads volunteer to bake and the food always disappears. In the winter time, I.S.C.F. travels out to Agape Valley, a local Christian Ministry, to tube down the hill they have there. It's always a blast and in the spring the group returns there for a hike and/or hayride. An end of year BBQ is a tradition as well and the graduates are sent off with a loving farewell.
At Christmas, I.S.C.F. participates in Operation Christmas Child. Students pack a shoe-box full of hard candies, toys and hygiene items that children in under-developed countries would need. As you can see, I.S.C.F. is a great and active club where students are able to fellowship with other Christians, have fun and learn more about the Lord.
