TODAY'S NEWS

DAY OF SIGNIFICANCE:  Ascension Day:  Commemorates the Christian belief of the bodily Ascension of Jesus into heaven. 

Congratulations to all arts students for the ARTS SHOWCASE last night.  The joy you spread through music, drama and the visual art was contagious.   Brilliant work, tremendous commitment to your craft!  Special thanks to Ms. Stefanidis, Ms. White, Liam S., Ms. Zwierschke and the electrical class, Clayton S. and all student helpers who assisted in the success of our show!  AMBUSH, you rock!  Guitar class you rocked - Drama class - you were sensational!  Bravo!

PALS Students - Reminder of the Mandatory Lunch Meeting TODAY in Room 306 (Mrs. DiSanto's Room) - to work on the Term Culminating Project. Bring your lunch and some great ideas.

 E.L. Crossley is offering extra homework and assignment help Tuesday and Thursdays. Mr. Yando and Mr. Leone will be working with students in the library afterschool today until 4 pm. This is a great opportunity to get additional support in any of your courses. Everyone is welcome!

Are you interested in traveling to Costa Rica next March Break? There is a presentation of the trip TONIGHT at 6:45pm in the Lecture hall. Make sure you and a parent are registered for the session.

Attention to all grade 11 students.  If you are interested in a 4 period coop next year related to all the trades associated with building a home, then you need to make an appointment with Guidance ASAP to put in an application for next year’s Home Build.  This is an extremely competitive program with limited spots for all DSBN high school students.  Do not delay - make an appointment today for more information.

For students who would like to explore landscape, horticulture and hydroponics through a full day experience, please make an appointment with Guidance asap to apply for the Dig it program next year.  Spots are limited and shared with other DSBN high school students as well.

CLUBS

Crossley for Christ is meeting in room 214 today. Bring your lunch and bring a friend. Still welcoming newcomers. Enjoy a short prayer and some time in community. See you then.

SPORTS  

Track and Field athletes are to do 2 things: 1. Take a picture of the board of when to be at the track for Wednesday and Thursday of next week. 2. Take a picture of the long weekend workouts. You cannot go 4 days without practicing before SOSSA. If you want to be successful next week you need to practice. See you soon.

Congratulations to the Girls Slo-Pitch team as we competed in the DSBN large school tournament. We showed steady improvement throughout the tournament. We lost to Sir Winston 11-7, crushed GFSS 22-10, beat Centennial 13-7 propelling us to the pool semi finals where we lost steam losing to AN Myer. Mr. Smith and Mr. Belding would like to thank all the girls for a great tournament. Team meeting and picture next week.
