TODAY'S NEWS

June is:
Pride Month
National Indigenous History Month
Filipino Heritage Month
Italian Heritage Month

Today marks the beginning of Pride month! During the month of June, all DSBN locations will raise the new Pride Progress flag. There have been many variations on the flag. In 2021, the flag was altered in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter protests, including black to represent diversity, brown to represent inclusivity and light blue and pink, the colors of the trans pride flag. The purple chevron represents the land we are on, the Haudenosaunee and Anishinaabe communities, and the Two Row Wampum agreement.

School Nurse Dana is away, but School Nurse Ashley can help you out! She will be here at Crossley today June 1st for any in person appointments. The nurse office is located at the back of the student services area. Feel free to walk in or text to make an appointment - 289-241-1892, or live chat with a school nurse

E.L. Crossley is offering extra homework and assignment help Tuesday and Thursdays. Mr. Yando and Mr. Leone will be working with students in the library afterschool today until 4 pm. This is a great opportunity to get additional support in any of your courses. Everyone is welcome!

Rankin Run: We will be participating in a Rankin Walk in support of cancer-care during Period 1 on Cyclone Day. We are encouraging all students to sign up and raise money for this important cause. Please ask your families to register you and donate through the link on our website.
