Today’s News
September 30th has been named National Day of Truth and Reconciliation. For the first time, this year, it is a federal statuary holiday. As a school community, we would like to set aside the 30th to honour all the children who survived residential schools, as well as honour and recognize those who did not return. September 30th also coincides with Orange Shirt Day. It is encouraged that on Thursday, September 30th, that our school community wear an orange shirt. More information to come on how we will reflect and recognize this important day.
A message from your grade 12 Business Leadership class:
Rowan’s Law Day occurs on the last Wednesday of every September and it is a day dedicated to spreading the awareness of concussions and concussion safety. This day was created in honour of Rowan Stringer, a 17 year old student-athlete who lost her life due to the concussions she suffered. This year, Rowan’s Law day happens to fall on Wednesday, September 29th and next week a few of our grade 12’s will be coming in and out of classrooms to provide more information on Rowan’s story. Support Rowan’s Law day by wearing the colour purple!

Welcome to our first of many spirit days! If you are dressed in the colour for your grade you have earned points toward our colour wars competition! Let’s see which grade has the most school spirit and claims the big trophy sitting in the display case in the corner of the third floor at the end of the school year!
Teachers please take this time to count the number of students in your class wearing their grade colour. Record that number in the google form found in the ELC Staffroom
Grade 9’s should be in red
Grade 10’s in yellow
Grade 11’s in green and
grade 12’s in blue
Teachers If you have a split class you can fill out the forms multiple times - once for each grade!
If you are taking the late bus home today, please come to the main office at lunch to sign up.
Reminder if you have not handed in your verification forms it is imperative you do it ASAP, if you do not have a verification form please come to the main office.
Large number of locks purchased on school cash online have NOT been picked up, please pick up your lock ASAP.

Attention musicians! If you are interested in being part of Crossley’s Concert Band, Marching Band or Jazz Band -it isn't too late to join! Band will be meeting Monday after school until 4PM in the music room - room 123. See Mrs Barber if you have any questions.
