TODAYS NEWS
The students in Period 1: Working with Children and Young Infants have been working very hard on a "Kindness Wins" activity for Pink Shirt day.... and we need your help. We are hoping to inspire and send positive vibes. Today, students are encouraged to fill out a heart if they received a random act of kindness, or want to compliment someone either directly or anonymously, or if they simply want to share joyful messages/pictures etc. Students will be around to classes to distribute more hearts if they are needed. Student council will be counting points for color wars for each heart that is filled out. Teachers look for the google form in the ELC staffroom to track numbers. We will collect the hearts towards the end of period 1 today, then display them in the foyer windows. Thank you to all for participating!
Hello cyclones - do you want for your grade to be released first for an entire week? Yep you heard me correctly - your grade can be released first for an entire week so listen up! We are in our first spirit week of semester two! Each day we have activities and/or themes for you to participate in. Your participation will earn your grade points that will be added to our colour wars competition. Tomorrow will be twin day - so dress identical to another student or a group of students to earn points for your grade. Wednesday is going to be our colour wars day - so grade 9’s wear your red, grade 10’s wear yellow, grade 11’s have green and grade 12’s are in blue. Lastly, thursday will be pj day. There will also be class competitions happening on tuesday and wednesday.
Period 1 Teachers please complete the google form to record the number of students from your class today who have completed the paper heart activity.
The grade who gets the most points this week will be released first - ALL of next week. The grade with the second highest points this week will be released second all of the next week and so on. So come on cyclones - show us your spirit!
CLUBS
The board game club will open its doors tomorrow for anyone interested in an interesting lunch of gaming. Just come to the little room at the back of the library.
Unfortunately The Oddity film Society will not get going today. This semester's relaunch is pushed back to next Monday. So the Oddity from Society will officially begin for the semester next Monday.
SPORTS
The Boy’s Intramural Hockey season continues this week with Grey vs. Orange playing today at 3:00pm. A reminder to the Blue and Yellow team that your game has been moved to this Wednesday at 2:45pm. All players are reminded that the arena requires the updated proof of vaccination with the QR code.
All members of the rowing team are reminded that regular after school practice continues this week. Novices are reminded that practice is on Tuesday and Thursday. Spring is coming soon so consistent practice is the key. Consistency. Communication. Champions. See you soon. Go blue and gold!
Attention Jr. Boys Basketball team, you are reminded that you have a practice after school today in the large gym.
