TODAYS NEWS

Today is National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Today, we honour the children who never returned home and Survivors of residential schools, as well as their families and communities. 

This Saturday, there will be a POWWOW at the Performing Arts Centre in St. Catharines. Phyllis Webstad, who is a residential school survivor, author and creator of Orange Shirt Day will be speaking at this event. All are welcomed. Please see Ms. Di Santo for more details if you are interested. 

If you missed picture day, Pegasus will be back Oct 3, 2022 in the Lecture Hall.

Jason: link crew groups 6, 30, and 13 took home the dub, earning themselves a pizza party today in room 403 class
Tyler: today, Friday the 30th link crew groups 6,13, and 30 are welcomed to room 403 to hangout with their link crew leaders and teammates to celebrate their epic victory

Anyone who still needs to pick up their yearbook can do so by going to see MS WHITE in the food room (203) today.

CLUBS

Congratulations to the chess team who did great at the chess tournament yesterday! All 9 competitors did great, winning many games! Great job team. Chess club will meet next on Tuesday at lunch in the library - all are welcome!

The Oddity Film Society will be watching its first film next Tuesday after school. It might be Taika Wattitti’s “Hunt for the Wilderpeople”. 

SPORTS

There will be lacrosse club practices on Monday and Wednesday for all those interested in playing lacrosse at Crossley–all are welcome even if you have zero lacrosse experience!

Our Jr Tennis team had a very satisfying day yesterday as they competed at Zone. Your Cyclones just continued to improve as the day went on. Congratulations to Zone Champs Sophie D (girls singles) and the boys doubles team of Coleson B and Maxwell P. Also advancing to SOSSA are our Mixed and Girls Doubles teams. We can’t wait to watch these athletes play next week! Last team practice is today after school.

Double double toil and trouble, Muscles burn and kicks make bubbles. If Crossley Swim Team sounds like something you would like to try, come out to our first informational meeting next Tuesday at lunch in Room 201

Congratulations to the Jr Girls Basketball team on their hard fought win yesterday against Centennial! The girls overcame an early deficit of being down 10-2 and some foul trouble. They completed the comeback in the second half to win 22-16 in front of a supportive ELC crowd!  The girls are reminded of their practice on Monday after school. 

Congratulations to the Sr. Girls Basketball team on their 43-11 win over Centennial. The girls showed good teamwork and sportsmanship as they continue to improve on their season. We look forward to a great upcoming week as we play in the BPSN tournament.
