Todays Days of Significance:

Nowruz (Nawruz, Novruz, Navruz) means "New Day" and is a festival that has been celebrated for thousands of years by people of several different faiths.

Naw-Ruz Baha’i New Year, is an ancient Persian festival celebrating the “new day, is one of the nine holy days of the year

International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.  The day aims to remind people of racial discrimination’s negative consequences. It also encourages people to remember their obligation and determination to combat racial discrimination. (United Nations)

World Down Syndrome Day

E.L. Crossley is offering extra homework and assignment help Tuesday and Thursdays. Mr. Yando and Mr. Leone will be working with students in the library afterschool today until 4 pm. This is a great opportunity to get additional support in any of your courses. Everyone is welcome!

A reminder to all grade 12 French students who completed their DELF examination, please see Mme Menchella-White to pick up your DELF certifications. Also, any grade 12 French students who were unable to complete their DELF exam and would like to take the DELF exam in April, please see Mme. Menchella-White in room 302.

All graduating students are reminded to complete the Award Profile as posted in the Grade 12 D2L.  

Need volunteer hours?  We are looking for volunteers to help with our in-person Parent Teacher Interview Night on Tuesday March 28th from 3 pm - 7 pm.  Please sign up on the google form as found in your Grade D2L.  

CLUBS

The Competitive Mock Trial team will meet tomorrow - Wednesday - from 2:15 - 4 in Mrs. Barber’s room. Everyone needs to be present as our lawyer will be meeting with us to discuss strategy.

The Oddity Film Society will be watching some movie after school today in room 305. Stop by to find out what?

SPORTS

Are you a Leaf fan who is tired of not being able to watch playoff games?  Are you a Canadiens fan who is fed up with losing?  Well you can change that by coming out to cheer on your Varsity Boy’s hockey team as they take on Welland Centennial in the Championship game today at 2:30pm at the Pelham Meridian Center.  See you favourite players in action like Lucas “The Flow” Grant, Caleb “Dangles” Walton, and Cooper “I can’t see through my tinted visor” Eller.

Please excuse the varsity boys hockey team at 1:15 for their game today.

Attention all students interested in trying out for the Varsity Boys Baseball team, tryouts will begin on Wednesday after school on the field, please dress accordingly. Please see Mr. Petro in room 406 if you have not already signed up.

There is a girls soccer practice tonight on the field right after school 

Please excuse the girl’s hockey team today at 12:45 for their tournament.

There will be a brief meeting for all those interested in playing lacrosse today at lunch in room 318. No experience necessary, all are welcome. 

ARTS

All artworks from semester one that were hanging in the front hallway or left in the art room need to be picked up in room 107 this week.

The DSBN annual “Off the Wall” Art Show for grades 9 to 11 is approaching very quickly! Any students who would like to show their work in this show must bring their artwork to Ms. Wilkinson in room 107 by THURSDAY March 23rd, and submit a title and artist statement for it. ALL artists and artworks are welcome!!!

The city of St. Catharines is calling for all artists of any age to participate in a juried show set for next September. Anyone interested in this show can get more information from Ms. Wilkinson in room 107.
