SPORTS

Yesterday the Varsity Boy’s Hockey team took on Centennial in the Championship Finals.  The team came out flying, putting the pressure on Centennial rarely allowing them out of their own end.  Max J. got Crossley on the board with some hard work in front of the net.  The team carried the pressure into the second period with Max J. deflecting a point shot from Caleb W. into the top corner.  Brodie M. followed it up with a wicked wrist shot just above the goalie’s pad, giving your Cyclones a 3-0 lead.  Centennial wouldn’t back down as they cut the lead to 2 going into the third period.  Strong defense and goaltending in the third, allowed the team to hold on to the lead taking home the Championship for the second time in three years.  Mr. Lew and Mr. Blanchard would like to thank all of the players and call ups for a great season and everyone who came out yesterday to support the team.  Congratulations boys!

The Crossley rowing team would like to congratulate the boys hockey team in showing true blue and gold perseverance and persistence in the pursuit of excellence. The Crossley rowers are embracing the same philosophy as they push through the winter training and prepare for the upcoming on water season. Regular practices continue after school, novices and newcomers are welcome on any day and multi-sporters are encouraged to come to the erg room following their other sport practice and squeeze in an erg workout. No traffic jams on the extra mile. Go blue and gold!

Attention all students trying out for the Varsity Boys Baseball team, our first tryout will be today after school on the field. Please see Mr. Petro if you cannot attend.
