TODAYS NEWS

We are thrilled to announce the launch of our new Spirit Wear Store for E. L. Crossey.  To access the store, simply visit our school website and click on the Spirit Wear Store link. 

Pizza will be on sale on thursday at lunch this week due to the holiday.  Bring your cash to get your piping hot pizza in the caf at lunch.

Prom deposits are being taken starting today at lunch in the cafeteria.  Please bring $35 to secure a spot at prom.  Deposits are being taken Mon-Wed this week and next–don’t miss out on this milestone. New official prom date is June 15th.

Students who are SHSM and university bound might consider taking a summer coop to get this requirement done.  Remember: students who satisfy all requirements of a SHSM, earn an 80% average in required courses for programs at Brock or Niagara may see scholarships in the amount of $500 for Brock and $1,000 at Niagara.  There are other schools that offer money to SHSM students as well.  Want to learn more?  Make a Guidance appointment ASAP.

Attention grade 11 and 12 students who are interested in completing post secondary studies and  are experiencing a disability. You are invited to attend and discover opportunities in post-secondary education during a two day virtual event with Brock University. The goal of the event is to create a space where students can come together to participate in a forum to learn about different departments and services, exchange ideas, gain perspectives, and learn advocacy skills centred around post-secondary education. The vision of Ability Empowerment Day is to imagine a world where all people are treated equitably in education. This virtual event is running on April 25 and 26. For more information and to sign up for this event, please see Mrs. Varga in room 113 prior to the end of the day on April 6th.

Robotics: Unfortunately, Robotics club is canceled for tonight - sorry everyone.

Are you interested in being a leader at the school to take action and create the conditions in the school that promote equity, social justice and inclusion? On Wed. Apr. 12 there will be an informational meeting at lunch in the gallery about the creation of a student equity alliance. To sign up, there are Brave Space posters around the school with a QR code, or you can see Ms. Ranieri or Ms. PK. All are welcome.

Hey peeps, Crossley for Christ is meeting again tomorrow at lunch in room 214. Join us for some great time in community, a short devotional and time of prayer. Everyone is welcome to join us and Bring a friend. See you there! 

The Competitive Mock Trial Team will meet after school today until 4PM in Mrs Barber’s room.

SPORTS

Reminder of the lacrosse tryout tomorrow after school see Ms. Yallup if you cannot attend.

To all the intramural hockey players, we will be holding our year end pizza lunch in the lecture hall tomorrow.  Come out and celebrate a successful year.  We will be handing out certificates and announcing the champions.  Please bring your jerseys if you have not already returned them.

IMPORTANT- ALL Crossley rowers are asked to stop by Ms. Yallup’s room 318 today or tomorrow- the sooner the better- to pick up tickets for the annual and long time traditional Pasta Dinner Fundraiser scheduled for Saturday, April 29th. Tickets must be picked up before the long weekend so you begin selling them to family and friends. This fun, family event is returning after a 4 year pause so don’t delay- get those tickets today! Go blue and gold!
