TODAYS NEWS
Todays Days of Significance:
Twelfth Day of Ridván : The day on which Bahá’u’lláh and His family left the garden to travel to Constantinople.
Good morning Cyclones! Today is the 2nd day of Mental Health Awareness Week. We’d like to give a shout out to the Art students Sara, Julia, Lauren, Grace, Jill, Jenisa, Brooklyn and Ms. Wilkinson for creating yesterday’s mindfulness colouring panels. Your creativity and support for mental health is greatly appreciated – kudos to all!
This morning we’re sharing another action to help create positive change. Take care of your own mental health: listen to your mind and body; ask for help and take some time if you are struggling or feeling overwhelmed. You might take a walk, reach out to a friend, or talk to a teacher. Remember it’s okay to not be okay.
If you find yourself needing someone to talk to, our social worker and school nurse are happy to support you or you can text or call Kids Help Phone 24/7.
Today and throughout May, weather permitting, classes are encouraged to walk laps of the building with their teachers and record them on the tally sheet by the front office. Let’s continue to talk, walk, and chalk for mental health!
E.L. Crossley is offering extra homework and assignment help Tuesday and Thursdays. Mr. Yando and Mr. Leone will be working with students in the library afterschool today until 4 pm. This is a great opportunity to get additional support in any of your courses. Everyone is welcome!
If there is a student who lives in Wainfleet and would consider a summer coop in construction working on Smaller projects that relate to historical building restoration, as well as new construction throughout Niagara and surrounding areas, please see Ms Cripps in Guidance.
