TODAYS NEWS
Welcome to our first spirit week! Student council has planned some fun activities and dress up days this week. All days and activities give you the opportunity to win points for our colour wars competition - a year long competition where grades compete against one another for the coveted picture with the trophy and bragging rights! Today during period 3 you will take part in our first activity. Tomorrow during period 1 will be another activity. Wednesday is “Socks and Sandals” day and Thursday is “colours wars day” - grade 9’s will be wearing red, grade 10’s yellow, grade 11’s green and grade 12’s blue.
To all grade 9’s, just a reminder that GRADE 9 DAY is this Thursday. You will be bused to BALLS FALLS for some fun activities. Bring a water bottle and wear running shoes. Hopefully your permission form was completed.
The Wainfleet Fall Fair is in need of volunteers for this Saturday to help run activities for kids. If interested check out the Student Services D2L page. Do not delay. Get those hours done now!
CLUBS
The Crossley GSA is meeting Tuesday at lunch in room 303. Members of the LGBTQIA+ community and allies are welcome.
Are you interested in pursuing business or a leadership role in the future? A Business Leadership Competition club is starting up this week for Gr.11 and 12 students. Our first meeting will be Tuesday at lunch in Mr. Middleton’s room 209.
Are you in grade 9 and interested in being a member of student council? Nomination forms are ready for pick up in room 113. They are due by the end of the day on Friday September 22. Please see Mrs. Varga in room 113 or Ms. Ranieri in room 308 for more information!
Crossley for Christ will be meeting on Friday of this week at lunch because Thursday is occupied by Grade 9 day.
SPORTS
Cross Country is still looking for others to join to be a member of the team. We need 3 more grade 9 boys to help complete that division. We also are looking for 3 more senior girls (grade 11/12). Also, order forms and receipt for t-shirts are to be handed in on Wednesday. See you today at 2:20pm.
Reminder to the Jr and Sr basketball girls of their practice tonight right after school. Please see Mr. Marquis or Mr. Belding if you cannot make it.
ARTS
Marching Band Monday’s start in the music room, today, at 2:15. If you play an instrument or want to learn to play an instrument and represent Crossley at local parades, come to the music room for rehearsal today.
