Days of Significance:
Gender Equality Week- Gender Equality week is an opportunity to raise awareness of the important contributions women and gender diverse communities have made to the growth, development, character and identity of Canada; to celebrate the significant achievements and accomplishments that we have made in advancing gender equality; and to reconfirm our commitment to address persistent gender equality gaps in our country. Gender Equality Week is the result of the passing of Bill C-309, the Gender Equality Week Act, which received Royal Assent on June 21, 2018. This legislation designates the fourth week in September as Gender Equality Week.

STUDENT CENSUS SURVEY
DSBN wants to better understand students to help inspire, empower and support us. How can we help? By sharing our voice!
Complete a short, 10-minute, Student Census Survey during class time on Wednesday during your first period class.
Why complete the Student Census Survey?
It’s your opportunity to share your voice
It’s confidential
It helps DSBN learn more about students
If you don’t want to answer a question, just skip it
The more students who complete the survey, the more data DSBN has to help make decisions that directly benefit students
Did I mention it only takes about 10 minutes to complete?
It’s simple and powerful.

The Sr. Girls Basketball team kicked off their season on Friday playing in the Our Lady of Lourdes basketball tournament in Guelph.
