DAYS OF SIGNIFICANCE:

Franco Ontarian Day-The Province chose the celebration date to recognize the Franco-Ontarian flag. First recognized in 2010, Franco-Ontarian Day represents over 400 years of Francophone history, celebrating the community's social, economic, cultural, and political contributions in our province.

Hazara Black Day-Hazara Black Day is a day dedicated to commemorating the genocide of the Hazara people that took place during the 1880s and 1890s under the newly-established government of Amir Abdur Rahman.

Rowan’s Law Day-in memory of Rowan Stringer, a 17-year old athlete who died from second impact syndrome due to multiple concussions while playing high school rugby.

Interested in joining the Canadian Armed Forces? Well there is a unique Co-op opportunity where you can earn 4 credits. There will be a Military Co-op presentation Friday October 4th in the Lecture Hall at 12pm. See Mr. Marquis in the co-op office for more information and to sign up!

Any students who are thinking that they would like to study outside of Canada after they graduate are encouraged to attend the International Career Fair at Ridley College in St. Catharine’s. Details are posted in the Student Services D2L page. Please obtain a parking map from student services if you plan to attend.

CLUBS

Hey, Creative Cyclones - Let's Create! Calling all Photographers, Filmmakers, Animators, Storytellers, Journalists or Graphic Designers, join the Crossley Media Team. All are welcome. Thursdays in Room 109 @ 2:30. Join us this week for a short information meeting on Thursday, September 26.

There will be an Interact meeting, today at lunch, in room 303 —Interact Club is the largest leadership service organization for high school students. We emphasize community service and give students opportunities to gain volunteer hours by participating with local charities.  This meeting will be to plan our upcoming Stocktober food drive, and would be a perfect opportunity for new members to join in. We hope to see you there!

Hey you! If you signed up for dodgeball, check the gym fitter at lunch time for your teams. Tournament starts tomorrow in the small gym at lunch! Bring your A game and don’t forget the 4 D’s - dodge, duck, dip and dive! See you then. 

ARTS

Jazz Band will be hip and happening after school today in the music room. Rehearsal will run until 3:20 today.

Attention all students! Mr. Dickinson is excited to announce open auditions for our upcoming Spring theatre production, featuring scenes from some of Shakespeare’s most iconic plays. Whether you’re a seasoned performer or just curious to try out, we welcome everyone to take the stage and help write a new theatre piece. Auditions will take place on Wednesday, October 2nd, from 2:15 PM to 3:30 PM in the drama room. Please sign up outside the drama room to secure your audition slot. No experience necessary—just passion and enthusiasm. Break a leg! 🍀✨
