SPORTS
Congratulations to the Sr. Girls Basketball team on their representation of E.L. Crossley and SOSSA at the 2024 OFSAA Championship in North Bay. The team played very tough competition over the course of the tournament, running into an outstanding team from Thunder Bay in the Gold medal game. They showed great sportsmanship in capturing the Silver Medal! The coaches would like to thank all of the girls for an excellent season and an amazing OFSAA run. Make sure to high five all of the team members. There will be a team meeting in room 103 at lunch.
Last week’s OFSAA run concluded the Fall Athletics schedule. The tide started with the Golf team winning SOSSA and a 4th place finish at OFSAA, followed by a Cross Country Zone Championship and an OFSAA berth for the Sr Boys Cross Country team. The Boys SR Volleyball team competed above their seeding at the OFSAA championship last week and the SR Girls Basketball came home with an incredible silver medal, beating the first and second seeds in the process. The Athletic Council would like to congratulate the teams and recognize our Junior and Senior coaches who continue to develop and mentor our student athletes at all levels. The determination of our ELC athletes, while demonstrating exceptional class and sportsmanship, was on full display last week and throughout the Fall season. We are looking forward to a successful Winter season. Please make sure you follow the gym schedule for try-outs this week. Go Crossley Go!
Attention all learn to row participants and newcomers to Crossley Rowing. The winter indoor training program began last week for those newly interested in the Crossley Rowing program. It runs on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school and involves a variety of activities designed to help improve your rowing fitness and stroke, and prepare you for the spring, on water, racing season. Bring a smile and your workout gear and get ready to have some Cyclone fun. If you have any questions or concerns, see Mr. Ruscitti in Room 206 anytime or email him. Go blue and gold.
