Martin Luther King Jr Day-This day commemorates the leader of the Civil Rights movement in the USA. People of all races and religions have benefited from the sacrifices and accomplishments made by this great man. He was a Nobel Prize winner (Peace Prize 1964) and a prominent advocate of nonviolent protest. He was assassinated on April 4, 1968. (USA)

Student council is excited to invite you to our annual semi formal at Club Roma in St. Catharines on Thursday, February 20th. Tickets are on sale until January 21st and they cost $50. The evening consists of dinner and a DJ. Doors open at 5:30 and the event ends at 9pm. Tickets are available through DSBN school cash online. Novice rowers are doing a great job and showing steady improvement- well done! Keep up the excellent attendance, attitudes and work ethic. That makes you a winner on and off the water.
Reminder to all novice rowers that there is practice tonight after school. Meet in the athletic foyer. The Thursday practice has been moved to Monday. The Tuesday practice is still on for Tuesday. First competition is fast approaching on Feb 1st at the Denis Morris Novice Sprints. Go blue and gold.
