DAYS OF SIGNIFICANCE

Anything Pink Day-DSBN students and staff are proudly wearing anything pink to stand up against bullying, to celebrate our diversity, to show our commitment to inclusion, belonging and kindness, and to remind each other that we are stronger together. Our Board believes in cultivating a positive school culture where students feel valued, and feel empowered to be their truest selves every single day. Could period 1 teachers please refer to the email sent this morning as you count and record the number of students by grade who are wearing anything pink. A reminder that tomorrow is “colour wars” day. Students earn points for your grade by dressing in your grade colours - grade 9’s are in red, grade 10’s in yellow, grade 11’s in green and grade 12’s in blue.

Maha Shivaratri-On Shiva’s night, the Hindu deity Lord Shiva performed the Tandav, the cosmic dance of creation and destruction. A 24-hour fast is kept and devotees make pilgrimages to major shrines for worship. (Hinduism)
