TODAY'S NEWS
Mental health week continues! Did you know that 1 in 5 Canadians will experience a mental health challenge in their life? Having open and honest conversations with people we trust can improve our mental health.
At E.L. Crossley, we also have a school social worker and a public health nurse who you can talk to! Check out the Crossley website or talk to your teacher about it!
Trans+ History Week is recognized every May as a time to celebrate and honour the success of individuals under the transgender umbrella throughout history. Today, Q&A wants to acknowledge Dr. Alan Hart, a doctor who pioneered the use of x-ray technology in diagnosing tuberculosis. Hart was born in 1890 and became the first trans man in the United States to undergo gender affirming surgery. He lived happily as a doctor, husband, radiologist and researcher until his death in 1962.
