TODAY'S NEWS

2024-25 Yearbooks are in! If you bought one, you can pick it up on Photo Day (This Thursday, September 11). 


Are you having trouble with your login/password or connecting to DSBN's secure WIFI network? Come see Mrs. Stefanidis in the front foyer at lunch today.


Today in the caf we are featuring Mac and Cheese as well as all of our usual favourites! Tomorrow we are featuring Crunch Wrap Supremes and on Wednesday we are going to take a trip to Italy and cook up some tricolour tortellini with alfredo sauce!


CLUBS

Yearbook will meet after school today in room 109. All are welcome. We are always looking for people interested in writing, photography, graphic design, and editing! Lots of options for various levels of commitment. Join us today to find out how you can help us create our 2025-26 Yearbook!!!

Students council executive members are reminded of the weekly planning meeting at lunch today in room 213!


ARTS

Attention Musicians! Concert Band rehearsals will be starting at 2:15 today in the first floor music room above the gym. See you there! 


Jazz band rehearsals start this Thursday.


If you borrowed an instrument over the summer and still haven’t returned it, please bring it tomorrow! 


Attention all Artsy and non-artsy people! Art club will be meeting this Thursday at lunch in Ms White’s new art room (203). Anyone is welcome to join :) 


SPORTS

Interested in running for the ELC Cross Country team this year or just looking to improve your overall fitness and meet new friends? Running opportunities are held every day after school, however athletes are only expected to be at 2-3 practices per week. See Mr. Edwards, Mr. Shannon or Ms. Kiley if you are interested or have any questions. 


Rowing is growing. Excellent turnout for the Learn to Row open house on Sunday this past weekend. The Fall Learn to Row sessions begin this upcoming Saturday and Sunday at the Niagara Rowing School in Jordan, a beautiful harbour location right next to grand ole Lake Ontario. You can choose either the 9am or the 11am shift. Registration can be done by emailing nrsrowing@gmail.com or simply showing up and registering that day. It is open to all ELC students in any grade that is new to the sport of rowing- all grades including grade nines of course. If you need additional info or have questions stop by and see Mr. Ruscitti in Room 206. Go blue and gold!


If you are interested in being a grade 9 rep for students council please see Mrs. Varga in room 113, Ms. Rainieri in guidance or Mme Kuczera in room 303 to obtain a nomination form! The Nomination forms are due by 2:15 on Wednesday September 17th.
