On Thursday September 18th we are having our first pep rally, Cyclogenesis, during periods 3 and 4. If you’re interested in joining any clubs, you can also visit the club fair the same day at lunch in the gym.
CLUBS

The first Interact meeting of the year will be this Thursday at lunch in Ms White’s room 203! New members are welcome to join!
Chess Club - The first chess club meeting and playing will be TODAY in the library at lunch. If you are interested in being part of the chess club this year, please come to a quick meeting at the start of lunch. Anyone is welcome to join!! Questions - see Mrs Bhan!
The Oddity Film Society will be opening the theater in no time, so if you like your entertainment to be a little bizarre, stop by room 305 for a permission form.
ARTS
Attention all musicians! If you read music and can play flute, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, baritone or percussion, the jazz band needs you! Rehearsals will be starting after school on Thursday at 2:15.
If you borrowed an instrument over the summer and still haven’t returned it, please bring it tomorrow!

SPORTS
Rowing is growing. Excellent turnout for the Learn to Row open house on Sunday this past weekend. The Fall Learn to Row sessions begin this upcoming Saturday and Sunday at the Niagara Rowing School in Jordan, a beautiful harbour location right next to grand ole Lake Ontario. You can choose either the 9am or the 11am shift. Registration can be done by emailing nrsrowing@gmail.com or simply showing up and registering that day. It is open to all ELC students in any grade that is new to the sport of rowing- all grades including grade nines of course. If you need additional info or have questions stop by and see Mr. Ruscitti in Room 206. Go blue and gold!
Interested in running for the ELC Cross Country team this year or just looking to improve your overall fitness and meet new friends? Running opportunities are held every day after school, however athletes are only expected to be at 2-3 practices per week. See Mr. Edwards, Mr. Shannon or Ms. Kiley if you are interested or have any questions.
Grade 9 Specific Announcements
If you are interested in being a grade 9 rep for students council please see Mrs. Varga in room 113, Ms. Rainieri in guidance or Mme Kuczera in room 303 to obtain a nomination form! The Nomination forms are due by 2:15 on Wednesday September 17th
Grade 9 day is Mon. Sept. 22. Make sure to bring your permission forms back to your period 1 teacher.
