TODAY'S NEWS

It’s Picture Day today. You will be called down by grade to the small gym to have your photo taken. 


2024-25 Yearbooks are in and ready for pick-up!  If you ordered a yearbook last year, swing by the table in the foyer when you go for your school photo to pick up your yearbook as you head back to class. A huge THANK YOU to our amazing yearbook staff. It was a very small, but dedicated and creative, team that worked into the summer so that we could create this yearbook. Thanks for all your work to create this for our community - You did an amazing job! If you are interested in joining our Yearbook Team this year, swing by and see Mrs. Gillap or Mrs.Pomeroy in the studio (room 109) for information.


Hey Cyclones!  You asked for it and Link Crew has delivered!!!  Link Crew presents the BLUE and GOLD dance on Thursday, September 18th from 6 pm - 9 pm in the gym.  Everyone is welcome!  Tickets will be on sale on Cash-on-line!  $10 for admissions, pizza and refreshment.  Wear your blue and gold and show your school spirit!!  

Our first spirit week of the year is starting this Friday! Make sure to dress up each day to win colour wars points!

On Thursday September 18th we are having our first pep rally, Cyclogenesis, during periods 3 and 4. If you’re interested in joining any clubs, you can also visit the club fair the same day at lunch in the gym.

The Media Team will meet on Thursday after school in room 109. Are you a photographer, filmmaker, or creative media maker? Interested and want to know more about this? See Mrs. Pomeroy in the studio (room 109)


The first Interact meeting of the year will be TODAY at lunch in Ms White’s room 203! New members are welcome to join! 


ARTS

Get your jazz hands ready! Jazz Band rehearsals start today in the music room at 2:15. 

Please bring your folder with you if you have one from last year!

Do you want to watch plays and feel like a real theatre critic? Apply to join the ELC Cappies team! See Mr. Dickinson in room 402, Mr. Yando in room 214, or your favourite English teacher for an application form and more information!


Attention Crossley performers! The EL Crossley Drama Society will be hosting improv Wednesdays starting next Wednesday in the Drama room after school starting at 2:15. See Mr Dickinson or Mr Yando for more information. All are welcome!


SPORTS


Interested in running for the ELC Cross Country team this year or just looking to improve your overall fitness and meet new friends? Running opportunities are held every day after school, however athletes are only expected to be at 2-3 practices per week. See Mr. Edwards, Mr. Shannon or Ms. Kiley if you are interested or have any questions.


Rowing is growing. This is your chance to try a new sport in your new year at Crossley. One of the biggest teams in the school. The Learn to Row program begins this Saturday at the Niagara Rowing School in Jordan. Fun, fitness and friends. Show up at either the 9am or 11am shift on Saturday and/or Sunday. You can register via email at nrsrowing@gmail.com or show up Saturday or Sunday and register there. See Mr. Ruscitti in Room 206 if you have questions or concerns. Time to rock n’ row.
