DAYS OF SIGNIFICANCE
National Day for Truth and Reconciliation/ Orange Shirt Day-The message behind this day is Every Child Matters and is an opportunity for First Nations, local governments, schools and communities to honour survivors, families and communities. To take the opportunity to talk, teach and learn about residential schools to ensure that the history and legacy remains a vital component of the reconciliation process. (National)

ARTS
Attention Crossley actors and performers! This year’s production is finally ready to be announced. In April 2026 we will be putting on an original production of Animal Farm by George Orwell. This Wednesday after school will be an information session in the Drama room starting at 2:15pm until 3pm. Improv Club will be happening after the information session until 3:30pm for all interested in joining. Auditions will be starting next Thursday Oct 9th in the drama room from 2:15pm until 4:00pm. All auditioners should bring comfortable clothes to wear and water. We are also asking for all auditioners to prepare a short corny joke that they will share with the group during the audition. If you are interested or have any questions please contact Mr Yando or Mr Dickinson for more information.
SPORTS
The Junior Tennis Team enjoyed gorgeous weather yesterday at their Zone 3 Competition. Jack C took home the Zone 3 crown in Boys SIngles, while Mixed Doubles of Allison K and Charlie M battled and won second place which advances them to SOSSA on OCtober 22. Great work by everyone!
Attention all Cross-Country runners. There will be a brief, but mandatory meeting today at the beginning of lunch in room 301. We will be going over the plan for Thursday’s invitational meet. Please see Mr. Shannon, Mr. Edwards, or Miss Kiley if you have any questions.
The Sr. Girls Basketball team traveled to Stamford yesterday to continue our league play. We started the game a little tired but found our energy before half. The girls played excellent defense helping to ignite our offence. It was a tough battle until the end where we defeated the Hornets 38-33. Our next game is Wednesday after school here at Crossley against Eden.
