DAYS OF SIGNIFICANCE
Harvest Moon Festival-Also known as the Mid Autumn Festival, the night of the full moon signals a time of completeness and abundance and is a day of family reunions. Celebrated on the 15th day of the eighth lunar month, when the moon is at its fullest and brightest, the Mid-Autumn Festival symbolizes unity, peace, and harmony. Many East Asian communities will gather to watch the moon, exchange gifts, feast, and spend time with loved ones. Around the world, brightly coloured lanterns will light up the night sky, and communities will come alive with fairs and markets offering local crafts and traditional foods such as mooncakes and songpyeon.
World Cerebral Palsy Day-Cerebral Palsy is a group of neurological disorders that affects how people move and maintain their balance. It is the most common motor disability in childhood. Cerebral Palsy Awareness Day is meant to educate, push for inclusion, and find a cure for cerebral palsy.
World Day of Bullying Prevention-The first Monday of every October is World Day of Bullying Prevention. On this day students, schools and communities all over the world go BLUE together against bullying. It also kicks off National Bullying Prevention Awareness Month every October.
