DAYS OF SIGNIFICANCE
Treaties Recognition Week (Nov 2-8)-This week honours the importance of treaties and why they are relevant. This learning will support students to understand treaty rights and relationships in their local community as well as across the province and country.
Holocaust Education Week (Nov 3-9)-Learning about the Holocaust is critical in countering antisemitism and other forms of hate. Commemorating Holocaust Education Week enables us to: (1) understand key concepts including democracy, dictatorship, collaboration and genocide, (2) acknowledge the dire consequences of hatred and discrimination, (3) better equip ourselves to fight intolerance, prejudice and antisemitism today, and (4) recognize the survivors, heroes, and those who lost their lives.
