DAYS OF SIGNIFICANCE

Rosa Parks Day-Commemorates the arrest of Rosa Parks, in 1955, for defying segregation by refusing to give up her seat on the bus for a white passenger. The incident led to the end of segregation. (USA)

World AIDS Day-World AIDS Day, designated on December 1 every year since 1988, is an international day dedicated to raising awareness of the AIDS pandemic caused by the spread of HIV infection and mourning those who have died of the disease. (United Nations)

TODAY'S NEWS

The Pelham Santa Claus Parade is coming up on Saturday Dec 13th, and we would like to have a BIG Crossley presence this year! ALL students are welcome! Teachers have a link that they can share with students to sign up. Alternatively, you can speak to Mrs. Hutchinson or Ms. Kuczera for more information :)

The last day to sign up for clothespin survivor is tomorrow! Bring your $2 to the front foyer today. 

CLUBS

Chess tournament registration is open!! The next chess tournament will be on Dec 11th at Eastdale. The registration is now open on in-school-teams! Please register and then come see Mrs Bhan in room 313 at lunch any day to confirm - this is a teams tournament but you don’t need a team to register! 

SPORTS

Jr. Boys Basketball 

There will be a short but important meeting for all Jr. Boys Basketball players at the beginning of lunch today in RM 215.

Sr. Boys Basketball:

Good luck to the Sr. Boys Basketball team who play their opening round game of the Standard Basketball Tournament today against Sir Winston Churchill. Boys, please make sure to give your signed/completed paperwork to Mr. Petro in room 406 and be ready to leave the school following 3rd period. 

Rowing:

Experienced rowers return to the workout areas as you transition into the Winter Training Program. Medals are won in the winter and handed out in the spring. WIN is the root word of winter! Please be in attendance and pay attention to communications and any postings in the erg room. Be sure to have running shoes on hand for the cardio. Weight training begins this week. 

Novice practices continue this week and are full steam (or stream) ahead. Tuesdays and Thursday after school. If you are unable to make those days, you might be able to join the grade 10s on a Monday, Wednesday or Friday. Speak to Coach Pat. Keep up the great attendance and effort. BAF- bring a friend. Newcomers are always welcome. Go blue and gold!
