Hanukkah (Dec 15-22) -The eight-day Festival of Lights celebrates the victory of the Maccabees and religious freedom, and the rededication of the Temple in 165 BCE. It also celebrates the power of God and the faithfulness of Israel. (Judaism)

Today marks the first day of our holiday spirit week! Today is “Festive colours day - wear red, white, blue or green!” day. Could period 1 teachers please count and record the number of students who are participating in our spirit day? The form can be found in your email! Also, a reminder that there is a class activity tomorrow during period 1. Staff please find materials in your mailbox this afternoon. Period 3 classes can start door decorating. If you need supplies please see Mrs. Varga in room 113. Judging for door decorating will take place on WED DEC 17th at NOON! Prizes are a pizza party for 1st place, timbits for 2nd place and candy for 3rd place!

Thank you to everyone who came out to our first meeting for Debate Club last week! Join us in Room 302 tomorrow (Tuesday) at lunch to weigh in on our first debate and help us choose our next topic. All are welcome!

Rowing
Regular practices continue this week for all rowers including the Novices who are out on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school. Experienced rowers have the 60’ erg challenge coming up at the end of the week, on Friday, and the Novices have the 4K Candy Cane challenge on Thursday- both team traditions.
