DAY OF SIGNIFICANCE
Posadas Navidenas (Dec 16-24)- Las Posadas begins the countdown to Christmas in Mexico, Guatemala, Latin America, Cuba, Spain and parts of the United States and Canada. During these days, ancient traditions are reenacted from the story of the nativity of Jesus. A small, candlelit procession travels through a neighbourhood, its participants dressed like Mary, Joseph, angels and shepherds, reenacting the search for a safe place to welcome the infant Jesus. The posada (party) usually involves caroling, feasting and a pinata. (Hispanic Christian)
