International Day of Families - This day provides an opportunity to promote awareness of issues relating to families and to increase the knowledge of the social, economic and demographic processes affecting families.
Malcolm X Day-An American holiday in honour of Malcolm X that is celebrated on either May 19 (his birthday) or the third Friday of May. The commemoration of the civil rights leader has been proposed as an official state holiday in the U.S. state of Illinois in 2015 and Missouri as recent as 2019.
Nakba Day-Nakba Day is an annual day of commemoration for Palestinians. This anniversary marks the mass displacement of Palestinians that occurred during the 1948 Arab-Israeli war, known as the "Nakba" or "Catastrophe.”

Fill your class jar with loonies and toonies to earn points, and sabotage other classes by dropping in coins under $1. The fundraiser runs until next Friday, and all proceeds go to the Rankin Cancer Run!

SPORTS
Despite missing several players due to injuries and other commitments, the Jr. Boys soccer team showed resilience and strength in a 5–2 victory over West Niagara at home yesterday.
Two goals from Kyle T., along with goals from Zach H., Zav G., and Jaxson S., sealed the win for the young Cyclones.
The boys are reminded that after-school practice today is cancelled, and they can rest as they prepare for their next game at Eden on Tuesday.
A reminder to all track and field athletes who are competing at SOSSA the meet is next Wednesday and Thursday. Please make sure you check the schedule in the gym foyer to know what days you are competing . Any athlete who is no longer competing needs to hand in their singlet to one of the coaches ASAP. See you at practice after school today.
