SPORTS

The Girls Slo-Pitch team played in the zone championship yesterday against the number 1 seed A.N. Myer. The girls played amazing defense holding them to 1 run early. Myer scored a few runs in the later innings. The team made a great comeback in the 6th inning putting up 4 runs but ultimately fell just short. Mr. Marquis and Carleen are very proud of the team's effort and overall showing! The girls are reminded to check the google classroom for their season end party.  Great Job Cyclones!

Over the last two days the Track and Field team has been competing at their SOSSA meet.  The team finished 1st overall for Male Team points, 3rd overall for Female Team points and combined to win the overall Team points.  In total 34 athletes are moving on to the OFSAA South Region Qualifying meet next week for a chance to compete at OFSAA at the beginning of June in both individual and relay events.  A reminder that there is no practice after school today.  Any athlete who is no longer competing is reminded that they need to return their singlets and any borrowed spikes or they will be charged a replacement fee.

Cyclone day is next Wed. May 27. Are you ready to spend the morning competing in fun games, get free lunch, watch the police play a basketball game against our students and then participate in an activity from a list of choices??? Please make sure that you sign up for your fourth period activity of choice using the QR code posted around the school or in the slideshow your teacher has. And bring back your permission forms if you want to be able to use the inflatables.  Can period 1 teachers please put up the QR code from slide 17 on the slide show sent out by Ms. Ranieri so that students can quickly use this time to sign up for activities during period 4 next Wednesday.

The varsity baseball team competed in the zone playoffs yesterday. In the Semi Final game the team came out swinging and got out to an early lead against Westlane. With great pitching from Liam S and Eli J the team was able to come out with an 11-3 win. The team then played Myer in the final. Cohen E got the team off to a great start on the mound, and with amazing contributions from the entire team at the plate, we were able to get out to an early lead. The game came down to the wire with Myer winning the game on a walk-off. Congratulations on great team play and great effort!
