SPORTS

OFSAA Golf Championships

Please join us in celebrating some phenomenal athletic achievements from our E.L. Crossley Cyclone golfers at the OFSAA championships!

Girls Golf

Huge Congratulations to Grace S. for capturing the OFSAA Gold Medal in girls golf!

Grace put together an incredible two days on the course, starting off strong on Day 1 with a personal best round of 73 (one over par). She followed it up with an 85 on Day 2, battling tough conditions to tie for the lead at the end of regulation play. The tie forced a tense and thrilling playoff, which she ultimately won by a single stroke to secure the provincial championship title! Your coaches and the entire school community are very proud of your hard work, dedication, and amazing performance.

Boys Golf

Congratulations also goes out to Ben J., who put together a fantastic tournament against a very competitive field. Playing on a tough course, Ben shot solid, consistent rounds of 74 and 75 to finish 27th out of 120 players overall. This marks his 4th consecutive year qualifying for and competing at OFSAA—an incredible testament to his skill and consistency.

Congratulations to both athletes on your outstanding contributions to high school golf as an E.L. Crossley Cyclone!

Congratulations also to our Junior Boys Volleyball team on their success at the Brebeuf Tournament yesterday! The boys battled hard against some strong competition and earned a spot in the semifinals.

A special shoutout to Charlie P. for his powerful hits, Eli J. for his hustle, and Ashton W. and Mac C. for stepping up and playing positions they had never played before. Great teamwork and effort from everyone!

There will be no practice today. Congratulations, boys!

Cross-country team, please meet Mr Shannon and Ms Kiley at lunch in room 301 to discuss the zone meet for next week. That's a cross country meeting at lunch- all team members must attend.

A reminder to all players interested in the Intramural Hockey league to get your forms in.  We are close to the player limit.  The first ice times are next week on Monday for the Seniors and Thursday for the Juniors.  If you have handed your forms in already, you have been added to school cash online so make sure you pay your season fees.

A reminder to the girls flag football team there is a mandatory meeting outside the trophy case at the beginning of lunch. All players must attend. Practice to follow if the weather cooperates.

Your Senior Girls basketball team played in the Niagara College Hoops quarter finals against Blessed Trinity. It was a close game all the way through before the team pulled away in the 4th quarter to win 57-39. The girls played amazing defence and unselfish basketball. They move on today to the Semi finals against Sir Winston. Come out and cheer them on! The game is at Niagara College at 8pm.
